Well, I suppose it's finally time to put those rumors to rest once and 
for all.

The rumors, and the judgment, are accurate but incomplete.  We are in
fact the same person, always have been.  I'm transgendered (actually,
transsexual).  I've gone back and forth between a male and a female
persona on the net a few times, but I've finally made the commitment
to permanent transition in real life and am in the process of
extinguishing my male persona on the net once and for all.  (Die, evil
beast!)

Steve can confirm all, or at least most, of this; I told him a long
time ago.  He has been most generous in not letting anyone else know,
and I thank him profusely for that.  (Steve, if you're ever in
Bloomington, let me know, I owe you a hug.)
